Company Profile World Cargo Services (Pty) Ltd (formerly known as WGS) was formed in June of 1991 as the first South African non-vessel operating common carrier (NVOCC) on the USA/South African route and opened offices in all three of SA's major ports. In 1994 we linked up with Carotrans International, at that time known as Carolina Freight, a major trucking company in the USA. CaroTrans expanded its operations worldwide and is today a major NVOCC.  Our partnership with CaroTrans is now 15 years old and is based on quality service to customers at competitive prices. Jointly we strive to exceed customers' expectations. In 2003 WCS was approached by Alliance Shipping from the United Kingdom and we were delighted to add this route to our business. Alliance Shipping's strong reputation for service and reliability had already made them market leaders on the UK route. With the massive growth of imports  from the East to South Africa it was a natural progression  to add services from many of these countries.  CaroTransAsia is already established in China and we are delighted to have teamed up with them in the East as our new partner.  Their track record and philosophy of service excellence, mirrors our objectives for this highly traded market. We pride ourselves on our ability to promptly respond to the needs of our customers!
